It’s Diwali this week (the holiday itself was yesterday)! For those who aren’t familiar, Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights and it celebrates the victory of good over evil.
With that being said, we wish you a VERY Happy Diwali and hope the year ahead is full of love and light!

Other than being a little sad that we’re not at home celebrating with our families, this week’s been a good one. Nothing major to report!
I do, however, have a few fun things to share in this week’s Three Things Thursday post. So let’s get started…
(1) Winter boots
I know I was just complaining about how hot it is here, but these boots are not for our time in Florida. These boots are what I’ll be wearing in Chicago come next December/January!
My sister found these Khombu boots at Costco and asked if I wanted a pair as well. They claim to protect your feet in –20 degree weather, so we’ll see how they hold up. I’m going to need all the help I can get!
While they’re not the most fashion forward choice, Aekta assures me that they’re fine. And I’m pretty sure fashion is the last thing I’ll be thinking about during the winter.
If you’re a Costco member, go online and search “Khombu® Ladies Winter Boots.” And if you aren’t a Costco member, I found the same pair on Amazon as well.
So I love how my phone and computer keep me organized, but there’s nothing like a paper planner. My planners are my most prized possessions (a slight exaggeration but still…)!
I look forward to getting my planner, sitting down, and penciling in things like birthdays anniversaries, and other important dates. And then as the year starts, I jot down things like weekly workouts, weekly meal plans, to do lists, blog post ideas, etc. It’s a beautiful thing!
I loved the planner I bought last year and got something very similar for 2016 – the Blue Sky Athena Weekly/Monthly Planner. I love how simply the Blue Sky planners are organized and also how there’s no bleed through on the pages. And they’re pretty affordable. My new one comes in sometime this week…can’t wait!
(3) Overdrive.com
If you own a Kindle (or a similar device), you need to check out Overdrive.com. My BIL introduced me to it. The basic gist is that you can check out books from your local library and download them directly to your device. ALL FOR FREE! Of course, much like the old fashioned library check out process, there may be a wait for certain books, new titles may not be available right away, etc. But still…FREE BOOKS!
That’s all I have today! Happy Thursday…make it a good one!
