Happy Friday, y’all!

This is a big weekend for us. My Kaiden turns seven on Saturday! And that also marks seven years of me being a mom. CRAZY!

Kaiden didn’t want a party this year. He wanted hibachi and ice cream. So we’re doing that plus a little bit more. I can’t wait to celebrate our not so little guy!

Other than that, I’m going outlet shopping with a friend tomorrow, and then heading to another friend’s neighborhood pool in the evening with the kids. Saturday is Kaiden’s day. And we may end the weekend with a family hike on Sunday.

I feel like it’s going to be a good one!

Let’s move on to some Friday Stuff…

Friday Thoughts

We recently started having my sister’s nanny come over for six hours a week to help with things around the house. My niece started school, so my sister and BIL don’t need her for the same amount of hours. So to fill the gap, she comes to us 3x/week for 2 hours at a time.

Y’all, six hours a week of help has been life changing. The funny thing is it took this situation with my sister for me to even accept the help. I really thought I could and should do it all on my own. I could write an essay about this, but the point of sharing this is that we weren’t built to do ALL the things. And if you’re able and have help, take it. With open arms. And then go focus on the things that matter most to you. You won’t ever regret it.

I’m fairly certain the best kind of people are ones who walk the line of being humble while also showcasing a healthy degree of self-pride. They don’t assert themselves by telling you how much money they have or what they’ve accomplished. They show you with their actions, their words and their decisions.

You know what kind of people irk me the most. The boasters who think they know everything and then tell you everything they know. I was recently on a call and had a guy like this in one of my breakout rooms. He literally told us his life story and how successful he is when the question was when we joined the organization and why. Just…no!

I made this Pinch of Yum recipe for dinner this week, and IT WAS DELICIOUS! I used salmon instead of chicken paired it with pesto pasta. So good! Highly recommend.
