I listened to this episode of The Super Soul Podcast the other day. It’s a compilation of various guests answering a handful of life’s biggest questions.

As I listened, I thought about how I would respond if Oprah asked me these questions (a girl can dream big!).

***A big caveat to what I’m about to share. These questions aren’t big…they’re HUGE. There is no one right answer, and also, our responses could very well change as we grow older and go through different life experiences.

What is the soul?
The soul is our true essence. The part of us that can’t be taken away.

What’s the difference between spirituality and religion?
Spirituality is our personal journey to finding meaning and connection to something bigger than ourselves. Religion is like a playbook. It’s the rules and regulations by which we should live. I think of these things as an inner compass vs. an outer compass.

What do you think is the world’s greatest wound?
Our inability to see the humanity in each other.

What is the root of racism?
Fear.

What do you think is the purpose of human existence?
To learn, grow, and cultivate as much goodness within as possible. And then to give it all away before our time on Earth ends.

Are you optimistic about the human race?
I am. As horrible as things seem right now, I do believe humans are more good than bad and also more capable of good vs. evil. Goodness will ultimately prevail.

As y’all know, I’m not a philosopher or anything like thay…just a suburban mom/professional coach who thinks about things like this every now and again. Ha!

Would love to hear your answers if you’re comfortable sharing!
