Hello and happy Friday! This felt like a short week since we were in FL on Monday and Tuesday.

I’m still catching up on sleep and rest after consecutive late nights and early mornings. But it was very worth it!

We cleared the calendar this upcoming weekend and are focusing on…POTTY TRAINING…with Ms. Mila! She is very good about using the potty at school, but at home, not so much. We know it’ll take more than a weekend to get this done but feel like we need to try because clearly she can (at school). Hoping M&Ms motivate her they way they did Kaiden! Ha! I’ll be sure to report back.

Now that y’all know what an exciting weekend we have coming up, let’s move on to some Friday Stuff…

Knowing vs. Feeling

My friend Amit and I had a great conversation on the beach about parenting and life. He brought up an amazing point about knowing vs. feeling. There is a big difference between the two. Knowing is helpful, but it doesn’t translate to feeling. On the other hand, feeling always amplifies the knowing.

For example, your kids probably know that love them because you tell them. But do they feel it in their hearts? What about your team at work? Do they feel that you trust them or do they just know it?

This simple yet powerful idea is applicable to everything from parenting to work to marriage to friendship to familial relationships.

Vacation Tired

My other friend Jimi made a comment after a late night about how he felt refreshed even with little sleep, and if he had been at home, he would have been exhausted all day.

I agree with him 100%. Vacation tired isn’t so bad. It hits you much later in the day, if at all. But everyday tired after a late night is a whole different story. I can’t seem to shake this kind of tired no matter how hard I try!

Funny how that works! I feel like the Universe is telling all of us to live closer to the beach. Ha!

Hot Seat Questions

I attended my monthly networking meeting yesterday morning, and one part of it was having four different members sit in the ‘hot seat’ and answer rapid fire questions. It was a fun way to get to know each other.

I didn’t sit in the hot seat this time, but I thought I would answer them here…

If you had to eat only one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? My mom’s green enchiladas.
What is your favorite season of the year? Fall
In school, what was your favorite subject? Math
What song lives in your head rent free? Wheels on the Bus, Baby Shark, Om Jai Jagadish, lots of T. Swift – all my kids current favs!
If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go? New Zealand
If you had a catchphrase, what would it be? As of right now, it would be – ‘put some muscle in your hustle.’
Would you rather be able to freeze time or travel in time? Travel in time.
What piece of advice did you receive that changed your life? If you want something that you believe you deserve, you can’t just rely on hard work. You have to ask for it.
