WR = weekend recap

I picked the kids up after school and took them to get haircuts. We then went to Chick-Fil-A to grab dinner, which I thought we would enjoy in store, but Mila’s crying made me think otherwise. Once we got home, the kids ate, showered, played, etc. I put Mila down (she cried a bit), and then started a movie with K (The Mighty Ducks). As we were watching the movie, I heard Mila cry again, but she quieted down within a few minutes.

It’s safe to say that Kaiden wasn’t a fan of most of the movie, but that just means Vishnu and I have to find better movies for him to watch. Someone on IG suggested Honey I Shrunk the Kids, and now I’m determined to have K watch that. I definitely watched it more than a handful of times as a kid.

Once I put K down to bed, I also headed straight to sleep only to be awakened at 10:40 by…

…Ms. Mila, who was screaming and crying “MOMMY! MOMMY!”

I ran to her room, picked her up, and brought her into bed with me. Vishnu still wasn’t home from the Hawks game, so I figured I had some time to get her back to sleep before he arrived. No dice! She was up until 12:15 am.

Which takes us into…

Mila woke up again around 5 am and cried for me to take her downstairs. Mind you, I had barely slept at all because this child of mine is a mover and a shaker! Anyways, I take her downstairs and try to get her to fall back asleep on the couch. She wants me to hold her, and then somehow she lays down. I quickly lay down next to her and we both fall asleep until about 7:45.

At this point, I hear K getting up, so we head back upstairs to check on the boys.

Eventually, we eat breakfast and get ready because one of my best friend’s Jenny and her son Noah (who is K’s BFF) were coming over to hang out for a few hours.

Once they got here, the kids played while Jenny and I chatted. Then we ate lunch and hung out some more until K’s final basketball game. Jenny and Noah joined us, which was so much fun! Kaiden played his little heart (and legs!) out and got a trophy from his coach at the end of the game (re: a participation trophy but his first one nonetheless!).

After we wrapped up at basketball, we headed to a birthday party. My other best friend Sweeti’s daughter turned 4, so we celebrated her in true Elsa style. It was a blast seeing all the kids have fun and catching up with all the adults.

Vishnu and Mila were supposed to join us after Mila’s nap, however, Mila woke up with a fever…

…perhaps this was the reason she was up the night before?!

Sunday started with a virtual Sunday School class. Mila woke up fever free, but I didn’t want to risk it.

We then played a bit and got ready for lunch.

The strangest thing happened between 11:30 and 12:30. Mila went from playing with Vishnu and running around to having a fever. We gave her some meds and put her down for a nap.

I headed downstairs for a quick workout, and then my parents came over to hang out and see the kids. So thankful!

Mila hardly napped so Vishnu went and got her. And then, as I was holding her, I noticed her hand was super red. Upon closer look, I saw she had hives. So I stripped her down, and sure enough, she had hives on various parts of her body. Thankfully, we had allergy meds and everything calmed down once that hit her system.

Compared to the morning and afternoon, the evening was a breeze. My parents left, we played a little, we ate dinner, and then we were off to the races with our evening routine.

Today will be a Mommy and Mila day. We’re going to keep her home for the next day or so until she’s completely better. Fingers crossed!

I hope you had a less eventful weekend and have a good week ahead!
