Hello hello! I am currently sitting in a coffee shop waiting for a friend to join me. I don’t know why I don’t work from coffee shops more often. I’m so much more productive, and it’s so much more fun than working from home. I think I’m going to make it a goal to work from one once a week.
Another goal I’ve been thinking about is showing up here on the blog more frequently and more consistently. I know some bloggers blog every day and share shorter posts about exactly what’s going on in the moment. Personally, I love those kinds of blogs because you feel like you’re along for the ride and look forward to updates. I don’t know if I can commit to daily posts but 3-4x a week feels more doable. I’m definitely going to try!
In true hodgepodge fashion, I’m going to jump into and around with a few different random topics…
First of all, I am in my ‘I’m defining and owning my style’ era. Not much changed when I turned 40, but this definitely did. I went out last week and bought 3 new pairs of jeans. I bought some body suits (who am I?!) and am now in the process of cleaning out my closet and only keeping things that fit my style…which for now I’m calling ‘classic chic.’ Not sure exactly what that means yet but I’m figuring it out!
Related to this, I was just telling Vishnu that I feel more comfortable with who I am – as a person, in my body, in my mind – than I ever have before. I will forever be a work in progress BUT I no longer feel the pressure of living up to a certain ideal or standard. I work on myself daily, but I do it for me. And more than that, I’m truly proud of myself. Such a freeing feeling!
Let’s talk about books next. So I absolutely love the library. I love the fact that I can access almost any book I want, and most of all, it’s FREE access! What I don’t love is when every book on my hold list becomes available at the same time. I had to leave three books behind this week. I took home two, but even that is probably too much because I’m currently in the middle of two books right now. Oy vey!
Moving on to TV shows. Vishnu and I just started season 2 of ‘The Morning Show,’ and y’all, we are INTO IT! So freaking good. I love how layered and nuanced it is; the actors and acting; the writing; ALL OF IT! Such a fun and powerful show to watch!
An ‘as of late’ post wouldn’t be complete without mentioning my little goobers. Kaiden is doing really well. We are forever working on his ability to focus and we have our emotional ups and downs, but he’s such a good kid. Ms. Mila is very much a two year old. She’s in her mommy only stage and will scream and cry when things don’t go her way. But she’s so dang cute and lovable. Overall, the kids are good. We drive each other nuts sometimes, but we’re allllll goooood.
In terms of work, it’s a constant rollercoaster. There are some really high highs and some very low lows. I’m going to write a post about soloprenuership soon because it’s so different from what I expected when I started Awarify. File this under the things no one talks about…
With that, I’m going to end this long rambling post. I hope y’all have a good rest of your week, and hopefully you’ll see me back here sooner than later!
