…well hopefully! Maybe I’m getting ahead of myself, but this weekend’s beautiful weather has me hoping warmer temps are right around the corner. And to stay!
Regardless of what happens, Vishnu and I are adamant about one thing – we should be out when the sun is out! And we tried to do just that this weekend.
FRIDAY
Friday was the one exception to the above. We made dinner reservations but ended up cancelling because Vishnu had to work late. Instead, we stayed in and enjoyed each other’s company. Like we literally sat on the couch and chatted for 1.5 hours.
I sat with my feet propped up, as Vishnu detected the first signs of swelling in my feet. Ahhh! My ankles were a bit swollen by the end of the day, so I was more than happy to kick my feet up [literally] and relax. I plan to write a separate blog post this topic, as I’ve already learned a ton in the past few days!
SATURDAY
I woke up fairly early on Saturday, made myself some breakfast, and settled in with A Man Called Ove. Once Vishnu was up, we spread out our tax documents and got to work. I honestly don’t mind doing our taxes because Turbo Tax makes the whole process super easy. It’s more so about getting motivated to actually do them!
Once that semi-painless activity was over, we got ready and headed out to run a few errands.
And then before we knew it, it was time to meet up my sister, BIL, and a bunch of friends for dinner at Big Star. I really enjoyed the fun ambiance, the service, and the delicious food. The tacos weren’t the best I’ve ever had, but they were definitely tasty.
Of course, a warm(ish) day calls for ice cream, so after dinner, our party of 10 made its way over to Jeni’s Ice Cream. You guys, the line was out the door, but the wait was worth it. My salted PB + darkest chocolate combo tasted like perfection. I could seriously eat that every single night.
SUNDAY
Sunday was a fun day overall. I fit in a solid workout with my bump, Vishnu and I cleaned the apartment, and then we headed to the Museum of Science and Industry.
Something we quickly realized is that this museum is more for kiddos. That’s not to say we didn’t enjoy ourselves! I LOVED the ‘You! The Experience’ exhibit. It’s about maintaining a holistic approach to health – mind + body. Also, it was fun seeing Vishnu in his element, specifically in the medical section of the exhibit.
After a solid 2.5 hours of walking around, we headed home. I was EXHAUSTED! This preggo can’t hang like she used to!
Our night ended with plates of nachos and the Big Little Lies finale. I’m not sure how well it was received, but I loved the final episode and think it brought the miniseries to a nice close. I compared it to the book for Vishnu but will refrain here as I don’t want to give anything away.
And with that, we are well into Monday. Make it a good one! 🙂
