I thought it would be nice to start the week off on a positive note here on MIS. For those of you who watched the Super Bowl last night, you know that the Atlanta Falcons lost in a very devastating way. I’m going to try and overcome the sadness of that loss by sharing a few of the things I’m loving lately.
First and foremost, there’s obviously nothing like actually going to the game and watching it live. However, I think we had the next best setup…
…a huge projector screen! My sister commented that this was great because she could actually see the ball and follow along. 🙂
Next, I’d like to mention Vishnu’s new glasses because they look SO good on him. While I primarily wear contacts on a daily basis, he prefers to wear glasses. And because this is something he uses day in and day out, we splurged a little and got him some Tom Fords! I wish I could show you the picture I have of him, but he asked that I keep it off the blog. Again, he looks so good!
I would be remiss not to mention Hamilton in this post because both Vishnu and I absolutely LOVED the show! It was everything we expected it to be and so much more. Wayne Brady currently plays the role of Aaron Burr, and he did a fantastic job…such a powerful performance. In fact, the entire cast was amazing. I felt every emotion possible and even teared up a little at the end. The fact that this was Vishnu’s first musical ever made the show that much more special!
Now, let’s talk food for a minute.
I recently bought and tried Rao’s Homemade Pasta sauce and loved it. The only downside to this particular brand is the price point. At $10 a jar (although my IG family tells me you can sometimes find it on sale at Whole Foods!), it’s quite the purchase. But from the way I look at it, when I make pasta, we can easily get 4-5 servings out of every meal (more depending on the amount of veggies and the kind of protein I add). When you do the math, it ends up being less than $4/serving. Not bad at all!
This next food item needs no introduction…Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked ice cream. I could eat this stuff every day and not get sick of it. So could Vishnu. This is precisely why you’ll never find it in our freezer on a regular basis. I think I bought a few pints for a get together and this particular one was a leftover. Someone had to finish it!
Sticking with the ice cream theme, have you guys tried Halo Top ice cream? I’d been wanting to try it for a while now, and when I saw that my local grocery story finally had it in stock, I picked up a pint of chocolate to try. For how healthy it is (for ice cream at least), I couldn’t believe how creamy and tasty it is as well. It’s the perfect ‘treat yo self’ treat! I can’t wait to try the PB chocolate kind as I hear it’s one of the best.
And finally, I thought I would end this post with a bit of cuteness! Over the weekend, Vishnu and I drove to Indianapolis for his cousin’s daughter’s 2nd birthday party. You guys, first of all, this little girl is the sweetest ever! Reading and playing with her made me so excited for what’s the come this July! Anyways, her birthday party was almost as cute as her. She’s really into Mickey Mouse right now, so that was the theme. There was Mickey decor, a Mickey cake/cookies, and even Mickey games. So fun!
Your turn – what are you loving lately?

Would love to hear what you think!
I’m with your hubby: I prefer glasses. That and my eyes are so bad that the out-of-pocket cost for contacts for me are horridly expensive so it isn’t worth it haha. I LOVE HALO TOP. I’ve been having an affair with it for a few months. Flavors I can recommend and think you should try: Birthday Cake, Red Velvet, Choc Chip Cookie Dough, S’mores, Salted Caramel and Strawberry. Those are probs my favs! Don’t try the Cookies ‘n’ Cream – you’ll hear a lot of people say it (well around me anyway) it’s not tasty!
I’m currently loving a ton of skincare products I’m going to be blogging about soon!!

You’re right – at the end of the day, my contacts are probably more expensive than his glasses (he had his last pair for 6 years!). And I’ll be on the lookout for those flavors. Have you tried the PB one yet?
Try the Halo Top Oatmeal Cookie. It is the absolute best flavor!😄
Oh yum! Will definitely be on the lookout 🙂
OMGGG.. don’t you just love Rao’s? THere is another brand I recently tried which was amazing too.. i forget the name. Not victoria – but that’s good too. You can totally find Rao’s on sale at Whole Foods, I visit every 2 weeks and I’ve seen it on sale a few times and that’s when I stock up. It’s so worth it.
Hmmmm… I’m loving these sweet potato chips by Food Must Taste Good. If you ever have a salty craving, it’s a good one. The sodium is low, natural non-gmo ingredients, your baby will be happy! 🙂
