This weekend was a true hodgepodge. It was one of this weekends where you actually did way more than expected/planned.
Let me break it down a bit…
FRIDAY
I went for a lunchtime run on Friday because it was so beautiful out. We are definitely transitioning to summer here in Central Florida. The temperature has been and will continue to be in the mid to high 70s for the next few weeks. Before we know it, it’ll be 85 degrees and HOT!
I watched a couple episodes of Fuller House after work. Ummm…I absolutely love this show! Full House was my FAVORITE sitcom growing up. I still remember watching the series finale with my family and running into the bathroom and crying my eyes out when it was over. Yes, it was that serious!
Dinner on Friday was homemade mac n’ cheese. I made the cheese sauce with almond milk and was afraid that it would taste too almondy. Thankfully, it turned out just fine. In fact, Vishnu couldn’t tell the difference!
We settled in to watch a movie after cleaning up. Too bad I fell asleep 20 minutes in. Vishnu tried to wake me up, but I was out cold! Parita + PM movies = sleepy time!
SATURDAY
Needless to say, I woke up nice and early on Saturday morning. Because of this, I was able to accomplish a lot before noon – watch the last three episodes of Fuller House, run a few errands, go to Trader Joe’s, and a squeeze in a quick workout.
After a quick lunch, my camera and I went for a little walk (per my March goals). There were so many people out and about in downtown St. Pete… and I soon found out why. There was an outdoor market and a reggae festival happening in downtown. If you follow me on Snapchat (@myinnershakti), you may have caught glimpses of both.
It was a little hard to snap pics that didn’t have a million people in them, but I got a few…
I was starving by the time I got home, so I whipped up two batches of my Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Muffins. If you haven’t made these yet, I highly recommend you do. Both Vishnu and I love these bad boys. They’re the perfect snack, breakfast, lunch, and even dinner!
Later in the evening, Vishnu headed to the Steve Aoki concert in Tampa. I stayed in and made a dent in my newest book – What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty.
SUNDAY
You guys, I woke up at 6 am on Sunday. 6 freaking AM. It was not intentional either. Vishnu got home at 4:45 am and decided that he needed to give me a big hug upon getting into bed! It was really cute, but after that, I was only able to doze on and off for another hour or so before I got up.
I decided to go for another outdoor run since it was gorgeous outside. I’m really going to miss our little neighborhood come June!
After cleaning the apartment, Vishnu and I got ready and headed to Besito for lunch. We had very high hopes for this restaurant per the reviews we read, but unfortunately, it was nothing to write home about. The majority of the food we ordered lacked seasoning. A big fail!
Since the mall was right around the corner, we headed there so I could pick up some stuff for my sister’s bachelorette party! 🙂
Our evening was filled with laundry folding, meal prepping, and TV watching.
Annnnnnd now it’s Monday. Time to get back to the work grind!
How was your weekend? Do anything fun?

Love weekends like these when you really pack in more than expected!! After a crazy week at work last work, I most definitely enjoyed some downtime over the weekend which expected a few outings with friends, getting a head start with work for the week ahead and catching up on TV. Just how GOOD is this season of How To Get Away With Murder!!!

Sounds like a nice hodgepodge weekend! I love weekends like that. This past weekend was completely chill and I welcomed it with open arms. I’m currently re-watching Gilmore Girls (in anticipation for the redux whenever it comes out) so that was…”fun”. I forgot how much I have a love/hate relationship with that show haha. We also saw Zootopia which was so cute. OMG. SO CUTE. Sunday included reading, relaxing and brunch! hope you have a lovely week!
That’s a bummer that the lunch place didn’t knock it out of the park! Still, it’s always fun to try a new place 🙂
YAY for warm weather!!! It’s finally getting up to the high 60s and 70s here so I’m all about an outside run!
Sorry to hear the restaurant was a bust, I hate when that happens. But I love the photos you took, so beautiful! It would definitely be hard for me to leave that paradise.
My weekend was super low-key after a week of travel. We watched a lot of House of Cards, worked out twice, went on a few walks and cooked all of our meals at home (after 7 days of eating out, I was so excited to be in my kitchen again). It was perfect!

Yay for productive weekends! You will LOVE What Alice Forgot, so good, as are all her books! My weekend was pretty chill, lots of long walks outside, House of Cards, reading, and some chores/errands.

Falling asleep mid-movie on a Friday night — been there! I can’t believe Florida is transitioning into SUMMER! Send some of that weather my way 🙂 Unseasoned food is my biggest pet peeve. Restaurants should know better. We went to an amazing concert last night and though I’m paying for it today by feeling exhausted, it was more than worth it.
