I really don’t have anything interesting to say for today’s intro, so let’s just get to this week’s three things!
According to a number of articles, this book is supposedly the next Gone Girl. Umm…I would disagree with that. I had very high hopes for this book, but I don’t think it delivered. My main issue with the plot line is that it touches on one too many heavy issues without digging deep into any of them. Overall, I just felt that the book was a little superficial and left something to be desired.
(2) Jurassic World
I still remember going to the movie theater as a nine-year-old to watch Jurassic Park for the first time. I was mesmerized and terrified and excited and in pure awe! And this Friday, I will once again get to experience all of these things when we go see Jurassic World. I. Can’t. Wait!
Vishnu keeps telling me he’s heard mixed things about this movie, and I keep telling him it’s going to be awesome. Fingers crossed that I’m right!
(3) Remington 1.5” Curling Wand
This curling wand is everything! I never thought I would be able to curl my hair myself and actually achieve nice big waves/curls. This wand makes it possible. It’s super easy to use, heats up quickly, and comes with a glove (to prevent burning your finger tips!). And the best part is that the curls actually last. Just trust me when I say that if someone like me can use this and get great results, anyone can!
[And here are a couple of videos I watched before practicing on myself – Big Beautiful Hair and Curling Your Hair with a Wand.]
Well, that’s all I have today! Your turn to share – what are three things you’ve been thinking about/doing this week! If you’re a blogger, write a post and link back to one or all of the hostesses: Raj from Pink Chai Living, Nisha from Love Laugh Mirch, or Salma from The Write Balance. Then share a link to your post (not your blog’s home page).
And as always, thanks for reading!
If you’re looking for a good read, I recommend The Girl on the Train. If you have a kindle, I can lend it to you!

I actually read Girl on the Train a month or so ago! I liked it but I think Gone Girl is still my fav!
Do you mind sharing how to lend books with the Kindle?? My sister and I have been trying to figure it out for the longest time! Thanks!
You go to amazon.com/mycd and next to each title you should see […]. Click on that and if you’re actually able to loan the book you’ll see “loan this book”. Unfortunately, Girl on the Train isn’t even loanable 🙁 Only some books are, which is so lame!

Thank you! I checked and none of the books on my Kindle are loanable. 🙁
I’m so disappointed to hear that about Luckiest Girl Alive! But honestly, I’m not that surprised either. I have heard that from a few folks, but I also felt that way about Girl on the Train. I thought it was so good, but near the end it became so predictable! I still have Luckiest Girl Alive on my “To Read” list on Good Reads and have it requested at the library. I’ll eventually get to it. I also want to see Jurassic World! I’ve heard mixed reviews, but I never listen to them in terms of movies. I NEED TO GET THAT CURLING IRON. I’m not doubting that it works, but I’m sooo skeptical about curling irons because my hair SUCKS to curl. And it takes FOREVER. Having to split my hair up with clips, and do partitions at a time, to using heat protectant spray while it’s in a curled state, and then finding a damaging hair spray to put on last to ensure curls stay in place…then they fall out in like 1-2 hours. I’ll have to look into this though 🙂
I felt the same way about Girl on a Train – the ending wasn’t fulfilling!
And definitely check out this curling iron. It’s not expensive at all, but it works! And because it’s a 1.5 inch, I part my hair in bigger sections and am done in no time. I highly recommend it!
I can’t wait to see Jurassic Park, because like you I have such great memories of watching it as a kid. I’m not a big fan of action/sci fi movies these days but the nostalgia is too much to pass up.
Thanks for the curling iron rec! I really need to get a new one when I get back to the states. I’m thinking I need a new flat iron too if you have any recommendations for that 😉
Have a great weekend Parita!

Definitely check this one out, Kacy! It’s inexpensive and gets the job done. I love it so far!
And I have a Sedu straightner that I love. It’s expensive but worth it in my opinion. I hear GHDs are also really good.
I love Gone Girl! I’m currently reading “The Accursed King” which George Martin’s inspiration for A Game of Thrones, and I’ve read 3 books in 3 days.I watched Jurassic World and it’s ‘aight 😀 It’s enjoyable but doesn’t come close the original. And I hate curlers. I love curling my hair with straighteners, I have long hair and it takes me 5 mins to do my entire head.
I’ve tried using my straightner to curl my hair and always end up with a tangled mess!
And thanks for the heads up on JW – I’ll lower my expectations! Just don’t tell my husband 🙂
I think I may be one of the few people around that hasn’t seen any of the Jurassic Parks yet! I may have to catch up. And the curling wand looks great! I am totally one of those people who was bad at curling hair so I may have to check this one out! Happy to have you linking up to TTT!

Oh you should def. watch them! Jurassic World was really good too. A fun theater watch!
I want to buy a curling wand when I come this time – it’s at the top of my list! Maybe I can test yours out?! 🙂 But, seriously, I was looking at a Conair one, but you’re super happy with this one? I’ll just have to make sure the voltage on it works for here – we need to discuss this some more 🙂
It is AMAZING. I’m not great at anything besides straightening my hair, but this wand makes curls possible! I have a Conair one too and it doesn’t work as well as the Remington. A must buy if you ask me! And the best part is that it’s super cheap for how great it is!
Ohh I must try this wand out! I’ve tried everything from my hair straightener to a curling iron but I can’t seem to get the hang of it. I would love to figure out how to give a little va-voom to my hair some days. Do you feel the curls hold up pretty good?

Nisha, it’s amazing and SO easy to use! And the curls last for a couple days if not more. LOVE it!
