This is going to be one of those “here’s some stuff that’s been going on/will be going on” type of posts. Hopefully my little update is more interesting than the title of this post!
So first and foremost, my pre-transfer image files are back! What a freakin’ relief….seriously. I thought all was lost, since none of my personal efforts were working. As a final measure, I contacted a WordPress.com team member on the forums and she pretty much saved my blog. After a little bit of digging, she figured out the problem, told me exactly what to do, and now all is well in the world!
This transfer stuff is nuts! I’m still really glad I did it on my own, but it was definitely a huge learning curve. Feel free to email me with any questions if you decide to take the plunge. I have lots of wisdom to share!
Wisdom is gained with age, and guess what, I turn 30 next week (great transition #1!). Instead of celebrating in an all out kind of way, I think I may take next Friday off from work and make it a true Parita day.
My mom, on the other hand, has been counting down to my birthday since January 1st. She loves reminiscing about what she was doing 30 years ago, and in all honesty, I don’t blame her. I’ve always believed that birthdays are more of a celebration for the parents, and I hope mine celebrate 30 successful (I think!) years of being amazing ones!
Speaking of my parents (great transition #2!), they really wanted to get me a birthday present this year. For some reason, my mom was all about the Vera Bradley bags, and my dad was all about perfumes. I was not. So instead, they told me to pick something I really wanted. Enter the Polar FT4. After a little bit of research on the part of me, my sister, and Vishnu, I decided that I wanted this heart rate monitor. I’ll share more once I’ve had the chance to play around with a bit…
…next week at Best Body Bootcamp (great transition #3!)! Woo hoo! The next round starts on Monday, and I am so so so ready. I’ve only been strength training once or twice a week for the past 1.5 months and can’t wait to incorporate more of it into my weekly workouts. It’s still not too late to join, people. And if you do, I promise it will change your life!
And finally, my life (not so great transition #4) is going to be a little crazy at the beginning of February (another reason why I want to take a day off next week). In the span of 2 weeks, I’ll be flying to Chicago, Las Vegas, and Atlanta. Chicago for a work related training, Las Vegas for Roshni’s bachelorette party (!!!), and Atlanta for a friend’s engagement party. Even though it’s going to be a little hectic, I’m looking forward to seeing my coworkers, good friends, and family! Should be a good two weeks.
Tell me – what “stuff” do you have going on right now?
Do you find it hard to come up with transitions? I am ok most of the time, but with random posts like this, YES.

What a great post! Sounds like you’ve got quite a bit going on coming up! But you’ll embrace it well, I know it. Please do review the new Polar you get! I’ve been wondering which heart rate monitor to get since I’m so confused by all of them. And happy early birthday, Par! <3 There's a lot of stuff going on right now both with work and at-home life. We got a new treadmill (review coming this weekend) so I've been getting before work at 5 in order to get my runs/walks in for the day! It's a really great way to start the day. Looking forward to a three-day weekend too. Enjoy the Par day. We all need some me time! <3 Have a great weekend, girlie!

Great job on the runs/walks! I am an AM workout person and hope you’re enjoying the sense of accomplishment that comes with that!
And I will def. do a review of my Polar. So far so good!
Well with having a lot going on, it always makes us appreciate down time, so I think that is a plus :). And for me, it depends on topic. If it’s something I really like writing about (like in essays) then I have no problem with transitions. But for essays I don’t like, it’s just not happening haha.
My classes started back up this week, and I’m trying to, in my free time get as many posts done, and spend time with the boyfriend, and make sure I’m studying enough. Ugh, there just aren’t enough hours in the day! I’m definitely looking forward to relaxing a little this weekend!

Essays were always hard for me too. I don’t think I’m a great formal writer so maybe that’s why!
Happy early birthday! I heard through the grapevines that 30s is a lot better than 20s. 😉
My transition would have to be getting used to the new school year coming up in a few weeks. I have been enjoying my break so much!

Thank you, thank you! I hear the 30s are amazing. Looking forward to the new decade!
happy early birthday Parita 🙂 transitions are always hard but overtime I have learned to accept it as it comes because there’s always some sort of transition going on. Lately all my time has been recipe testing for the book and keeping up with my school.
