With regards to the title of this post, I’m sharing with y’all in two ways today. First, I’m sharing lots of information about my life (haha), and second, if you stay with me for a few minutes, you’ll see that I’m sharing a pretty little giveaway. Aren’t I so caring?!
First up…my life.
1. The biggest news I have to share is that I took Guinness (Robin and Andy’s adorable dog) for a walk the other day because R & A both had to work late. ALL BY MYSELF! This is HUGE. I used to be terrified of dogs. Even the little ones. But Guinny (as I lovingly call him) has changed that…sort of. I’m no longer afraid, just a little hesitant.
The adventures of Par and Guinny…
2. We are hosting Friendsgiving at our place this Saturday. I’m in charge of making a few side dishes as well as a dessert. I’m planning everything out later today and going to try to avoid the craziness of last weekend. For Vishnu’s sake.
3. I’m going back to Atlanta next week! Honestly, I can’t wait to see my parents and sister, Vishnu’s family, and hopefully some friends! This visit will be a lot different from my last, relaxing and full of laughter I hope.
4. A little less than a week after I get back from Atlanta, I fly out to London for work! SO excited. The majority of the people I communicate with on a daily basis work out of our London office, so it’ll be nice to get to know them and to put faces to names. AND my colleagues have planned a few fun touristy things for us to do while I am there. Woo!
5. I’m currently participating in a 21 day meditation challenge hosted by Oprah and Deepak Chopra. We’re only on day five and I’ve already gained so much. No worries – I’ve been taking lots of notes and have a few thought provoking topics I want to discuss on the blog. More to come!
At this point, the one thing I really struggle with is quieting my mind. We are advised to listen to the audio provided, hence being walked through the entire meditation. I love this. There’s beautiful, soothing music and everything. However, I’m having a hard time focus on the day’s mantra – too many random thoughts floating in and out. They say it gets easier as the challenge goes on…here’s to hoping that’s true!
* * * * *
6. Now for the part of this post that y’all actually care about…the pretty little giveaway!
A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by Blue Nile, an online retailer of fine jewelry, regarding my interest in a special holiday campaign called “Get one, Give one.” They offered to send me my choice of a necklace or a bracelet, while also providing me with a second one to give away to a reader! After looking at the given options, I settled on a beautiful branch necklace.
And I’ve worn it every day since it arrived!
So let’s get to it! If you would like the chance to win your very own branch necklace, leave a comment telling me about something fun going on in your life! The giveaway will close on Sunday at 9:00 pm, and the winner will be announced in Monday’s post!
Have a great Friday!
What a great necklace! It makes me think of two things as I deliriously type this at 3:47am while pumping ahhhhh…a branch off a family tree and the peace you expect when you offer an olive tree branch specifically. Which then leads me to the ‘fun’ going on in my life right now…we as you know recently added to our very own family tree with the addition of our son Shailen (whose name actually means peace and whose birthday happens to be the same as the most famous, most important peacemaker I know, Gandhi)…but the funny thing is he’s the total opposite of his namesake!! Shailen is so different than his big brother Jai…screaming frantically if he does not get his milk THE second he wants it! Plus he is THE gassiest baby…he sounds like a grown man with his burps and constant tooting. I used to always think it was Hitesh but quickly realized it was my littlest man! All of this combined with the projectile poop, spit ups at ungodly hours, you just have to laugh. This is the FUN in my life right now…but I’d have it no other way!
I was looking forward to a shout-out when you mentioned “the most famous, most important peacemaker” you know 😉 hehe
I absolutely LOVE that necklace! Hmmm what’s happening in my life? Truth be told nothing too exciting. I’m looking forward to december though when I’m finally quitting my job and changing career paths. Should be interesting…can’t pretend I’m not OVER THE MOON to leave!
Ohhh that necklace is so pretty!! I want, I want! 😉
Gorgeous necklace! The fashion companies never reach out to me it is that obvious I’m not cool?!), but I desperately need a refresh.
Something cool in my life is this weekend’s competition! And you BETTER let me know when you are in ATL. 🙂
Gorgeous necklace! Something fun is my husband finally has his vacation block starting Monday, meaning lots of bonding time!!
Beautful necklace. We are going on a vacation very soon. Very excited about it.
Pretty necklace! and I agree, sharing IS caring! Something fun going on in my life: getting to know my new family-to-be! 🙂
i love how minimal this is. Well, I am hosting a holiday party for about 15 people and its been really fun planning, being on pinterest more than I should, and testing recipes 🙂
That necklace is gorgeous! I love simple delicate pieces like that.
As for what’s going on in my life, besides really looking forward to the holidays, I’m excited for snowboarding season to start (today!!!!). Our winters can be pretty long and nasty up here, so having something fun to do through them always helps 🙂
Beautiful Necklace !! The exciting things I am looking foward to is going back to Georgia for a friend’s wedding during Thanksgiving, and India in December for a cousins’s wedding. Have a great weekend Parita !! 🙂
What a stunning necklace!! My life has been revolving around my wedding planning lately. I can’t believe it is in 7 months.. eeek so much to do!
The necklace looks so dainty and pretty. I’ve started to paint recently and am really excited for the weekends (I really didn’t know weekends could be more exciting than they were!) because I get a chance to wield the brush!
Necklace is very pretty. I never ever win any giveaways but of course I am going to give it a shot :). The best thing that is happening with me is spending time with my toddler who says all kinds of cute things and makes me laugh 🙂
Lol what a lovely necklace – I barely wear jewellery these days but that is so pretty and would go with everything. What’s happening with me? Well like you, I’m doing the meditation challenge and it’s definitely one of hone hardest but most rewarding things I have ever done. I have a feeling we might come to the same conclusions about a lot of the things, so loo forward to hearing your posts about it.
What else…am in London for a few days visiting friends and trying not to cry while Rehan goes through getting his first tooth. Oh my poor baby – he’s miserable 🙁
What a pretty necklace! I love the gold. Fun things? I am going to a farmer’s type market tomorrow and excited to see what will be out!
That pretty necklace would make a great “new mom” necklace 🙂 I am adjusting to life with a newborn, moving to the burbs, and lots of nights in!!

Beautiful necklace, I love it’s simplicity. Fun things? I’m in Nigeria at the moment. I’m also doing the Oprah & Deepak Chopra 21 day meditation. I’m heading home to London on Thursday and am sooo excited for Chritmas! The most fun I’ve had this week is spending time in the pool with my 20 month old. He loves the water and has just started learning how to do a running jump!! 🙂
Love the necklace and although I’m a silent reader I just wanted to add that I really enjoy your blog! Fun thing coming up for me is a nice beach vacay in Cabo with our 18-month old baby girl! I’m so excited to shop for cute lil beach wear for her; I haven’t really even thought about what I’m going to wear!! 🙂
LOVE Blue Nile
Beautiful branch necklace great choice
The fun thing happening in my life is scrapbooking I finally have found some time for it so fun to relive memories.
I randomly came across your blog a few months ago and thought it was very interesting, so now I’m a frequent reader 🙂 Can you share how you got over your fear of dogs? I’m EXTREMELY terrified of dogs – I start running if I see one a mile away! I’ve never had a traumatic experience with dogs, so it’s a pretty irrational fear that I would like to be relieved off one day.
As for something interesting going on in my life: I recently graduated from college, so just getting used to being an adult right now! I moved to a completely new part of the country, so just keeping busy with learning how to cook, shop, and basically live on my own 🙂
Looking forward to reading your blog more!
Love the necklace. Something fun in my life? Accomplishing my daily to-do tasks. I am so busy lately, that I am just excited when I get another item crossed off of my list!
It’s 8.30pm in CST so I still have a chance to win this necklace:-)
Lot of fun things happening in my life. The most important one being enjoying time with my 5 month old son and watching him grow. He’s ready to crawl but not quite there yet. One part of me wants him to crawl, and the other part knows that my life will get tougher once he starts:-) I already have to pick him up from under side tables. It’s also great to see the love and bonding between my two kids.
Does 8 PM PST count? 🙂
Something fun going on in my life is my living situation right now. I have a bunch of new roommates moving in and we all click really well. It makes it exciting to come home to. 🙂
