Every so often I think about writing a day in the life type of post. But I don’t because my weekday life is pretty routine – wake up, work out, get ready for work, go to work, come home, make dinner, hang out with Vishnu, eat dinner, clean up, watch TV/read, go to sleep…repeat the next day. Personally, I love the simplicity of it, but our M-F shenanigans wouldn’t make for a very interesting blog post.
Enter the hour by hour post, where I share a picture for every waking hour of a particular day. I didn’t come with this post format, but after seeing a few bloggers use it, I thought I would satisfy my need to share a microscopic glance of my life in this more creative way (read: non-boring way).
Hour by hour – November 5, 2013
The 6:00 a.m. hour
My morning started with a super windy outdoor run. I think I covered a little under 2.5 miles. Not too bad after almost a week with zero exercise.
The 7:00 a.m. hour
Breakfast was my favorite mocha protein smoothie. YUM.
The 8:00 a.m. hour
Coffee. My savior. Enough said.
The 9:00 a.m. hour
A little PowerPoint to start the work day.
The 10:00 a.m. hour
All my essentials in one place.
The 11:00 am hour
I went grocery shopping during lunch. The store is ~.25 miles away, so I walked. Not a bad idea going there, but on my way home I broke a sweat!
The 12:00 p.m. hour
I forgot to snap a picture of my lunch. It was delicious though – 1/2 an avocado, salsa, a sweet potato, and 2 fried eggs.
The 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. hour
I found this new to me Kind bar at the grocery store and devoured it somewhere in the 1:00 – 2:00 pm hour.
The 3:00 p.m. hour
The group chat my college friends and I have going is the best! It took the five of us a while to jump on the group text bandwagon, but I’m glad we did.
The 4:00 p.m. hour
Our office is ALWAYS freezing, especially where I sit. So today I decided to warm up with a cup of hot chocolate. Not the best but it did the trick.
The 5:00 p.m. hour
I’ve been wanting to make something using won ton wrappers for a long time, so when I happened to come across them at the store, I tossed them in the cart. So glad I did!
The 6:00 p.m. hour
Annnd…I decided to make Southwestern Samosas. More information to come in this week’s Par’s Picks post.
The 7:00 p.m. hour
Lots and lots of laundry to fold. Thank goodness my husband is the best folder in the entire universe!!!
The 8:00 p.m. hour
Typing up this blog post and a few chapters of Allegiant. Woot!
The 9:00 p.m. hour
THE VOICE!
The 10:00 p.m hour
Sleepy time!
Are your weekdays pretty routine?
In one word, how would you describe your “day in the life?”
Sounds like a productive day- love that you hit up the grocery store during lunch :)! I bet the aisles were empty! I’ll have to look out for that KIND bar flavor next time I’m in Dubai- you know my love for sea salt & dark chocolate. My weekdays are pretty routine up until lunchtime as it usually involves me working up until noon, hitting the gym, and then lunch. The rest of the day tends to vary according to my work schedule/meetings.
Not even joking – I thought of you as I ate it! You’d love it!
my m-f is pretty much the same…i love that kind bar as well.
I knew people would be able to relate!
The nosy part of my loves these hour by hour posts — always nice to get a glimpse into the lives of fellow bloggers. And can I just say that I’m SO jealous that you’re still running in shorts? We’ve already got snow on the ground, and my last run left me needing to defrost for 30 minutes after I got home!
Haha. Yes, the weather in Miami resembles late summer. 🙂 I’m pretty sure I won’t be getting rid of my shorts/tank tops anytime soon. Come visit!!
What an interesting theme for a post- I’m a big fan of it! My weekdays can be slightly different but generally mornings are the same as are evenings!
PS I am soooo close to getting a kindle…you reckon its worth it?
Thank you, my friend!
And I highly recommend getting a Kindle. One of my best friends got me mine earlier this year and since then, we’ve bought one for both my sister and my brother-in-law. We’re all in love with it! It’s worth the investment if you are an avid reader and don’t have access to a library (and even if you do it’s fun to have!).
Very interesting hour by hour post!
Cannot wait for the recipe for those southwestern samosas!
Love kind bars – I was able to get my hands on the one you have and another with Peanuts and dark Chocolate 🙂
One word to describe my current “day in the life of” would be chaos – for the last month or so, my routine has not been predictable, but hoping there will be a change by Jan 2014 – I do love a regular sched.
I love this sneak peak into other blogger’s lives. I might just do a similar post soon! 🙂
PS – I’m a big fan of The Voice too!
I agree with Bianca, I love being nosy and seeing the day-to-day of bloggers lives. I would post mine, but mine would be so repetitive and an absolute bore to read!
