Exhausted But Happy

written by Parita 26 Comments

Our move is 99% complete!  We still have a few things left to do at the old place, but for the most part we are done.  You guys, I can’t even tell you the last time I was this physically exhausted.  It’s kind of ridiculous.  But I don’t really care because we’re happy.  And that’s all that really matters, right?

To be quite honest, I don’t think I was as prepared for this weekend as I thought I was.  I left a lot until the last minute because we weren’t going very far (or at least that’s what I tell myself).  My procrastination led to a late Friday night and an early Saturday morning.

And don’t even get me started on our movers.  Let’s just say that if I didn’t take the initiative to call and ask where the heck they were at 10:30 (the time we were told everything would start), we would have been in big trouble.  I’m glad we don’t have to go through the ordeal of moving for at least another two years.  That just adds to my happiness.

We are currently 90% unpacked and organized, which isn’t too bad considering I was gone for most of the day Sunday.

I also wanted to say thanks for all the good lucks, well wishes, etc.  Y’all are the best!  [insert virtual hug]

And with that, I’m off to work.  No longer having to get in the car and drive for over an hour makes me SUPER happy!  Happy Monday!

Haha! Thanks, K! I actually did enjoy not having to jump out of bed and run around like a chicken with it’s head cut off. It was so nice to be relaxed upon waking up…such a change for me!

    Shortened commute = WIN!
    Almost all unpacked = WIN!
    New home = WIN!
Congrats and so happy you two are moved in (albeit some dramalama occurred). I HATED moving. We definitely left a lot to the last minute, but I was so thankful when all was said and done! Now you can focus on relaxing and enjoying the new time you will have by not having to commute as long and enjoy your home!

I bet being done with the move is a great stress relief! I haven’t moved in nearly 5 years so I vaguely remember having to pack up my life to a completely different place! Now, onto unpacking! 🙂
Also, YAY for a shorter commute!

I read somewhere that moving is one of the top 3 biggest life stressors. I definitely believe that! But like everything in life, there are tradeoffs. So while the past few days were stressful, my mornings and afternoons are completely stress free now that I don’t have to drive. Well worth it I would say!!

Thanks, Kacy! We are so excited to explore and find new things to do and places to eat. All my anxiety about this move and our finances is slowly fading. Excitement is taking over for sure!

I currently drive an hour to go to school and it is the worse! I totally understand your frustration. Now you have two more hours of free time on your hands that you didn’t have before!

I feel your pain, my friend! Anything over 30 minutes is just painful. Hopefully you don’t have much longer left (?).

I bet it feels so good to at least be mostly done. I hate it when things are scattered about – it make ME feel scattered about too!

YES, exactly! I felt like I had no control because of the huge mess around me for the past few days. Things are finally starting to come together now though. Phew!

Don’t hate me but it’s less than 5 minutes door to door. 🙂 Come visit! You’d love the area we live in!
