Last Friday, Dixya wrote about having a virtual coffee date with her readers. It was so creative and fun to read. I felt like I was sitting across the table chatting with her. I loved her idea so much that I thought I would do something similar. However, instead of chatting over coffee, we’d enjoy milk and cookies (come on, channel your inner five year old with me).
As we dunked our delicious chocolate chip cookies in milk and devoured them one bite at a time, we’d talk and talk and talk. And by the end of our time together, we’d be best friends…forever!
If this cookie date were to happen today, I’d have a few things to tell you…
First, I’d tell you that I’m super excited about our move (tomorrow is the big day!). Then, in the same breath, I’d tell you that I’m also super stressed because Vishnu and I have A LOT left to do. We’ll probably be packing right until the movers arrive. Oh well, it will get done…because it has to get done.
Next, I’d completely change gears and tell you about my new favorite lip product – the CoverGirl Queen Collection Jumbo Gloss Balm. You’d hear about how amazing it is – rich color, creamy texture, and fantastic coverage (it’s not a stain, but it does leave my lips lightly colored). I’d then tell you to go get the Jammin Gem shade. It’s beautiful!
I’d then pull out my iPhone so that we could watch my favorite cute little kid video of all time. We’d watch it several times…she’s that cute!
And finally, before we got up to refill on more milk and cookies, I’d share the following quote with you. My sister’s professor shared it with her class during a lecture on eating disorders. She really liked it, so she sent it to me!
Scales only have the power which we bestow upon them.
In reality, a scale is just a small household item made of metal & springs & dials.
A scale is a toaster is a blender is an electric toothbrush is a weed whacker.
Imagine if I said, "My self-worth is determined by the toaster."Sounds pretty weird, eh?
Or "I’m fat, the lawnmower said so!"
Or "I have to check with the blender to see if I like myself today."
The power only comes in when we choose to hand all of ours over to an inanimate object.
How true, right?
I told you I’m a talker! No worries because it’s your turn next…
What would you tell me about if we had the chance to chat over milk and cookies?
I wanna chat!! That would be so cool! We should do a blogger google hangout sometime 🙂 I don’t know what I’d tell you, but I’d love to ask quesitons!
I loooove these posts! It’s so fun! Hmmm well, if we met, we’d probably meet over Squeeze-its and fruit roll ups (channeling my inner 9 year old) and some things I’d tell you:
1). I’m obsessed with dresses. It’s probably not a huge shock since my Instagram is puking with selfies, but I haven’t felt this confident to wear a dress in the spring/summer in years! I’m embracing it like mad!
2). Please come to my house and enjoy a glass of wine on my patio and look at the flowers. When we bought our house last May, it was near the end of May when everything was already in bloom or past its peak. This is our first spring in the house and I have loved watching things start to sprout and then waking up the next morning to see them all in bloom! Love!
3). Try the Kate Spade fragrance Live Colorfully! You (and Vishnu ;)) won’t regret it! Smells so great!
I’m sure I’d tell you so much more! We need a blogger meetup one day! Have a great Friday and an awesome weekend. Good luck with the move! <3
Loooove this post…even when Dixya did it, I thought it was such a creative idea! If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I just came back from an amazing yoga class, and think I’m a convert. I’d also come armed with some oatmeal raisin cookies to dive into once we finish your bunch :)!
I would tell you to pass me more milk and cookies. LOL!
Good luck with the move this weekend!!
Just the response I would expect from you…. 😉
I love all of these virtual coffee and tea dates. Cookies and milk is by far my favorite. I am thinking I’ll go with Diet Coke and (non dairy) ice cream sundaes. Why not?
Good luck with the move! Breathe.
Words are SO powerful. I have had to had the conversation with a number of my students lately regarding the use of the word ‘retarded’ and it is still shocking to me that they use it flippantly without actually understanding its true definition.
I am much more of a listener, I love absorbing as much as I can.
Good luck on moving! That is on the bottom of my list of things I like to do. My boyfriend and I have to move at the end of the summer and I am not looking forward to it.
I am so gladdd we all are talking over coffee, tea, cookies and milk 🙂 I feel like these sort of conversation really makes me closer to people in blog world – weirddooo i know. If I was eating cookies and milk – I’d tell how excited I am about my dinner the other night – cauliflower crust pizza is possible. Also, I’d also tell you that I got accepted to grad school 🙂 🙂 still waiting for the official letter though. Happy Friday Parita. I really want to meet you and have a glass of milk & choc chip cookies 😛
Eat Live Run does the coffee date too and I just love it! I’ve been meaning to do it too! I should check out the cover girl lip balms… I tried the Neutrogena ones and I love them, especially they are very creamy and smell like their name, which i love. Might as well try these too 🙂
I’d tell you.. that I don’t like milk, but you drink milk and I’ll drink tea, along with cookies. 🙂 I can’t wait to hear about all the new places you visit in Miami. . it’s so exciting. Hopefully I’ll visit soon, my husband keeps talking about it, haven’t been back in 3 years. Good luck tomorrow!!!
Can we chat over cookies and ice cream instead? Because I’m kind of obsessed with that combo at the moment – even more so now that the weather is FINALLY starting to warm up around these parts *happy dance* Good luck with the move! And thanks for sharing that awesome bit from your sister’s professor. I don’t recall my lawnmower ever mentioning that I’m fat, so I guess I must be doing okay 😉
Good luck with your move girl! I hope things go smoothly.
I hope your move went well! We are planning one soon so I completely understand what you are going through.
I think we’ll have milk and cookies and a chat one of these days. I’ll get to Florida eventually! 🙂
