Back to the Grind

First and foremost, I hope y’all had an amazing Thanksgiving holiday full of all the things and people you love!  It’s hard to believe that 2013 is right around the corner.  Where does the time go?

Well, I’m back in Florida and back to the grind.  For some reason, the transition back has been harder than usual.  I miss my family a lot!  Good thing I’ll be seeing them again for Christmas when Vishnu and I head back to Georgia.  Very much looking forward to that.

I figure most of you are having a hard time getting back into the swing of things as well, so I thought I would share some random/inspirational/funny/silly things to make your day a little brighter!

A little more serious to start off with (LOVE this quote)…

To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget.
Arundhati Roy

Moving onto some funny things I found…

Funny Friendship Ecard: I appreciate your friendship so much that if we ever got into a fist fight I'd totally try my best to avoid your face.

Funny Birthday Ecard: May you live to be so old that your driving terrifies people.

And finally, a funny story from Saturday night…

After Vishnu picked me up from the airport, we headed to Lime Fresh for dinner.  I ordered my usual vegetarian taco salad and picked out what I thought were the three salsas I usually get.  Before digging into my salad, I poured on all three salsas.  With the first bite I was reaching for water and telling Vishnu that they put something spicy in my salad.  After a few more bites I declared that I couldn’t eat anymore.  Vishnu took one look at the empty salsa containers and asked if I was sure I didn’t take the habanero salsa by accident.  Umm…that’s EXACTLY what I did.  In my defense, it looked just like the salsa verde!  When one of the servers came by and asked if everything was ok, I explained my stupid mistake.  To my surprise, she brought me another salad.  Talk about excellent customer service.  It wasn’t even the restaurant’s fault!  Well, I learned my lesson the hard way (my stomach was on fire the rest of the night).  Never again will I even go near the habanero salsa!

Hope one of these made you smile!  Have a great Monday. Smile

  1. This was a good way to start my morning. Miss you, Par!! And I noticed you changed your picture. I love it! Have a wonderful day <3

  2. That really is GREAT customer service! I’ve never eaten at Lime, but I’ve been meaning too. I’m glad you made it back safe and sound 🙂

  3. Haha you know I love those e-cards…they just keep getting funnier! That salsa story made me laugh because I am sure I wouldn’t be able to choke down more than a bite…my spice threshold is laughably low. I know I know, what kinda Indian am I!

  4. LOLLLL.. awww.. “my stomach was on fire.” THat got me laughing. That is some strong stuff, and if an Indian can’t handle it, it must really be spicy. Love that black friday image, so true, I’m a victim too, BUT i shop online, I don’t bother going out on Black Friday.
