Time is flying!  I can’t believe I’ve been in Atlanta for three days already.

I’m currently at Vishnu’s house spending time with his mom.  Some people might cringe at the thought of hanging out solo with their MIL for a couple of days…but not me.  I love my MIL!  You wouldn’t necessarily know it, but she’s super in the know with pop culture news, recent fashion trends, and all the good TV shows.  We watched The Voice together last night.  It was fun.  And not only is she hip, but she’s also funny as all get out (and half the time she doesn’t even know it)!  Never a dull moment I tell you.

Other than hanging out, I haven’t been up to much else.  And it’s awesome!  I mean, I miss Vishnu and all, but not having to commute in rush hour, worry about cooking, do laundry, etc…simply amazing.  My mom makes me feel better about my laziness by telling me it’s well deserved.  She knows being a new wife isn’t easy. 😉  Thanks, momma!

While some of my laziness may be well deserved (at least my mom thinks so), there are a few external factors adding to it, including OUR WEDDING VIDEO TRAILER!!!  Our videographer sent it to us at 11:00 pm on Sunday, and I’ve probably watched it 20 times since then!   Raj at JAR Films did an absolutely amazing job!  The three short minutes perfectly capture all the emotion and fun from the weekend!  Click on over if you want to watch some wedding fun!  And if you do, let me know what you think!!

Well, off I go to do some work (so.hard.to.concentrate).  Have a great Tuesday y’all!

  1. Something to think (and laugh) about: if you rearrange the letters of “mother-in-law”, you get “woman Hitler”. Love that you get on so well with your MIL…gives me hope that they don’t fall into the stereotype! From your instagram, she always clearly has great fashion sense- love the shoes she gifted you! Enjoy the rest of your time at home, P! Off to check out your video 🙂 !

    1. That’s awesome! I never knew that. I’m so glad Vishnu’s mom’s far from that…and don’t worry the majority don’t fall into the stereotype. And her love for fashion is awesome – a built in shopping buddy for me!

  2. I looooved the video! I just think the Indian culture is so rich and beautiful! I hope to someday attend an Indian wedding. I love the dancing! And you look beyond stunning. Congrats. again!

    1. Thank you so much, Mila! It was the best day of my life. 🙂 I really hope you do get to attend an Indian wedding at some point. They’re so much fun!

  3. That’s great that you get along with your MIL! I try really hard with mine, but I don’t think she has a whole lot of interest in me beyond making me fit into a certain square peg she thinks all daughters in law should subscribe to. It’s a work in progress, I guess 🙂

    1. Yeah – it’s nice! But in all honesty, I’ve known Vishnu’s parents for years. It’s been a lot easier to build a relationship because of that. Give it time. I wasn’t sure what my MIL thought of me at first…it’s an evolution of sorts!

  4. Parita – I loved your video.. you make me cry!!! 🙁 Just a beautiful video, I could see the happiness in your smile, in your eyes.. especially when he put the jai mala around your neck.
Yes, you are one of the rare ones who loves your MIL – you’re very lucky!!! I love my mom. 🙂

    1. Thank you! All my favorite moments from the wedding were captured. Since publishing this post, I’ve watched it another 20 times!

And you crack me up (with regards to your last couple of sentences)!!
