2 Weekend Updates

By Parita Sep 10, 2012

Another weekend has come and gone.  This one was low key – we slept in, did some furniture shopping, ran errands, etc.  Low key and relaxing – my favorite combo!

While nothing major happened, I do have two things to share.

1. Katie’s black bean brownies are delicious.  Make them now.

weekend 003

They were so good that Vishnu ate them all.  He’s such a chocoholic!  Wait, that’s me, and I helped finish these off.  In fact, do you see the portion below the missing piece?  Well, by the time Vishnu got home from the library, that entire section was gone.

MAKE THESE ASAP.  SO GOOD.

2. We made some progress with regards to living room furniture.  We’ve been looking for a chair, coffee table and TV stand for about two months.  On Saturday we went to Rooms to Go because we thought the chair we fell in love with two months ago was on sale.  Well, it wasn’t.  But after some discussion, we decided to go ahead and buy it…we’re calling it our splurge purchase.  And it just so happened that there was a floor model of the matching ottoman on sale.  Since we’ve been shopping around so much, I think we ended up getting a good deal overall.

After Rooms to Go, we headed over to Ikea to look for the other two pieces.  And luckily, we found exactly what we were looking for.  However, we’re going to have to make another trip to actually purchase everything because there was no way the boxes would’ve fit in Vishnu’s tiny two door car.

Once everything’s set up, I’ll share some pictures!

Like I said, our weekend wasn’t too exciting.  But sometimes that’s just what you need!

Happy Monday!

  1. Sometimes low-key weekends are the best! I once tried making chickpea blondies but they were an epic fail..such a shame as I had high hopes for them. I then vowed to never make bean-based desserts but I trust your word…and these look delicious!! And hey if Vishnu is a fan, they must taste pretty decadent :)!

  2. I really like low key weekends….usually they’re so jam packed that you feel like you need another weekend to recover! i’ve made black bean brownies once and they were good but still looking for that perfect recipe – will try this one 🙂
