My weekend at home was jam-packed. Not only did we take care of quite a few wedding errands, but I also attended a beautiful wedding.
THE ERRANDS
One of the things I’ve been wanting to get done before the wedding is Lasik. I’ve worn glasses since the third grade and contacts since the sixth. The time had come to permanently fix my optical issues, or so I thought. It just so happens that I’m far from an ideal candidate. The doctor said to wait another year to see if things change. Oh well…better safe than sorry!
My mom and I also met with the stylist who will be doing our hair and getting us ready for most of the events. We sat with her for over an hour talking about what we wanted. Here’s what we came up with for me…
For the garba (dance event the night before the wedding)
For the reception
For the wedding, I know I want to do a simple up do…I just haven’t picked out a picture yet.
We also stopped by to select the fabric and design for my sister’s garba outfit. While there, a beautiful outfit caught my eye…
…and I ended up wearing it to the reception the next day!
THE WEDDING
The wedding was outdoors, and thankfully, the weather was near perfect.
It was my friend Jetan’s twin brother’s wedding!
The reception was equally as gorgeous, with really unique centerpieces and a colorful pink and purple backdrop.
It’s funny how every wedding I go to makes me 100 times more excited for my own, which is only two months away!! Eek!!!
This past weekend really flew by (not that I don’t say that about every weekend). The next time I head home, I’ll be with Vishnu, and we’ll be arriving just in time for Purvi’s wedding! I. Can’t. Wait. Honestly, I’m more excited for her wedding than my own right now. It’s going to be an absolute blast!
What’s something you’re really looking forward to?!
I think Indian weddings are absolutely beautiful! They’re so extravagant!!
A lot of them are super extravagant. All of them are colorful, which is what I really love!
Woe gorgeous hair abd outfit! I’m also a less than ideal candidate for LASIK- I so badly want to get my eyes sorted! I’m off to China tomorrow to visit my sister and her hubby and I can’t wait 🙂
I LOVE your hair style selection! you have such pretty hair anyway – you are going to look amazing!
And the outfit is awesome – I love that color!
Thank you! And the emerald green is what got me too. 🙂
so funny… i am an ideal candidate for lasik, but my husband won’t let me do it because he’s paranoid. i know there is a small chance of something going wrong, but what if it’s me? doesn’t that scare you? I wish i knew more people who wanted to get this done so we can discuss this.
you look beautiful Parita. your friend’s wedding is so nice. i love the garba look … and i think having ur hair down for the reception is nice.. many people put it up, but I think it’s nice to have different looks. and if you’re paying someone, they might as well put it down for the reception. i cant’ wait for your wedding either. lol. and the pics!
I want to get Lasik so badly! But so many people I know have had issues with it so it’s held me back. Better to be safe than sorry.
You look gorgeous by the way! Love your outfit.
You are too kind. Thank you!
And I was so bummed about not being able to go through with the procedure, but much better safe than sorry (especially when it comes to something like your vision)!
wow – you looked amazing here! It looked like the wedding was a fabulous time. Great pics 🙂
Thank you so much! It was a really fun wedding!
🙂
