Living and Loving

written by Parita 6 Comments

My religious views will probably never be talked about on this blog, and there’s a good reason for that.  It’s my personal belief that religion is a very personal matter.  It’s about you and what you choose or choose not to believe.  Period.

However, I came across an old email this morning and had to urge to share the message.  Regardless of what you believe, I think it’s the underlying message is a good one.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as
to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
it is in dying that we are born into eternal life.

~ A prayer by Mother Teresa

Again, in my personal opinion, the bold words in the prayer above have nothing to do with religion.  To me they’re about living and loving.  Plain and simple.

Well, I’m off to day 3 of training (more on that later).  Have a great Wednesday!

    I love this and you’re right, it has absolutely nada to do with religion…just a message of humanity that we need to be reminded of regularly! Hope the training is going well, my friend!

    Love this…

    Usually it’s the underlying message that is totally forgotten when people talk about religion! I totally agree with you…

    Love it! And to that I say treat people the way you want to be treated. Have faith and enjoy a balanced life. It is easier said than done, no matter what religion individuals are.

    Have a good day!

    I think it’s about life, not religion too – and I love this!
