There’s nothing like…

written by Parita Leave a Comment

I feel very rejuvenated after being home for almost four days.  My visit was productive and at the same time very relaxing.  Can someone please invent a time machine so I can go back and experience it all one more time?  I’ll give you chocolate…lots and lots of chocolate!

Instead chronicling in detail the four fabulous days I spent in Atlanta, I’m going to hit the high points and share some of my favorite moments. Smile

There’s nothing like…

…upgrading to business class (although I felt kind of guilty for doing so).

…seeing your parents at the airport with huge smiles on their faces.

…eating your mom’s home cooked food.

…finding an amazing nail salon and only having to pay $15 for the best pedicure of your life.

…staying up way past your bed time with one of your best friends talking about life.

…eating delicious Mexican food for the first time in what feels like months (not counting any homemade dishes).

…going to see an amazing musical with another best friend.

…seeing your handsome fiancé after two months.

J&J Weddiing 052

…attending a beautiful wedding for two friends who are absolutely made for each other.

J&J Weddiing 005

…successfully (I think) co-emceeing the reception for the same friends.

J&J Weddiing 037

….talking, laughing, and sharing new memories with all of your best friends.  All at once. Smile

…celebrating your engagement with all of your best friends, especially when it’s a surprise party (Vishnu and I had no clue).

THERE’S NOTHING LIKE GOING HOME!!!

Before I end this post, I want to share an interesting quote I heard at a work training today…

“Your reputation is the odor that proceeds you before you enter a room.” – The facilitator today

Finish this sentence – “There’s nothing like ______.”

And just out of curiosity, what’s your definition of reputation?

’twas wonderful to see you Par! You did a great job hosting!

    “There’s nothing like… your mom & dad”

I define reputation as the regard in which I am held by my family, friends, and clients. If I am not held in the highest regard then I am falling short and need to take corrective action. If through corrective action, it is not possible to be held in a high regard by my friend or client, I decide to continue a acquaintance-ship with the person or if it is a client, refer the client elsewhere for a better experience.

I have always wondered about those airport nail salons!

There is nothing like a good glass of red wine after a rough day.

What a wonderful trip – love all the wedding photos! I went to a wedding over the weekend as well and while it wasn’t as colourful as the one you did, it was still so lovely.

I HEART pedicures – reminds me I am pretty overdue for one lol.

Shanna stole my line (because I totally agree! :P) so here’s another

    For sure.

I’m glad you had a great time at home! Sometimes a little break from the norm is needed!

Sounds like the perfect getaway! There’s nothing like love, whether it’s from a friend, family member, or lover/bf/gf/fiance/spouse/etc–> the feeling is something no amount of money can buy!

Also great definition of reputation, which I totally agree with! I’d rather have a good reputation than be popular!
