Well, we did it! We walked (and ran) 13.1 miles…in the pouring rain! It was a bit tough to get through just because our shoes and socks were heavy with water, but we did it. And because I didn’t want to waterlog my camera, I don’t have many pictures.
The best part of it all was walking alongside my sister! Her knee ended up doing ok, so I have high hopes that we’ll be able to run another half together again soon. We already have plans to look into the Miami Beach Rock n’ Roll half next year. Fun times ahead!
Other than that, it was pretty much what we expected – lots of people and lots of cheering. The rain did bring down the mood a little bit, but once we got over that, it was fine.
We got home and took a nap. After relaxing for a bit, I cooked up a storm…
I’ll share the recipes later this week, but here’s a little photo preview!
Everything I made turned out oh so well! I promise I’ll be sharing the recipes and details later this week…maybe Wednesday for WIAW!
And if all of the above wasn’t enough, my sister and I decided to venture out for some ice cream as a treat for ourselves!
I went with a small cup with two flavors – Mocha Chip and Coffee Oreo (who would’ve guessed!). And Aek went with the regular Oreo and Cake Batter.
Well, I’m off to spend some time with my sister as she leaves early tomorrow morning… .
I hope y’all had an awesome weekend!
Did you try out any new recipes this weekend?
congrats!!!! proud of you 🙂
Congratulations! In the rain, no less! How are you feeling after? Think you’ll do another?

Yay for the race! That stinks it rained so much though. I would be bummed to not have many pics bec of rain and cameras. Every tiem you talk about coffee oreo ice cream it makes me wish we had that flavor somewhere I oculd find here.
Check and see if a Bruster’s near you has it. Good luck!
Way to go girl!
I’ve been in Boston since Thursday and the rain yesterday was NUTS! Ugh..it was horrible. So I feel ya and I wasn’t even outside that long.
So glad you got to spend that time with your sis 🙂
Congrats to you and your sister! I’m glad you didn’t let the rain ruin the experience for you. 😀
I tried out Jenna’s (at Eat Live Run) recipe for jambalaya this weekend and it was amazing!
Just catching up- congrats on finishing! That’s so awesome you got to do it together! No one will ever run one with me… 🙁
