My sister and I look alike, talk alike, heck, we even laugh alike. Our similarities go beyond just the obvious though. We are both also food lovers. I’m not going to lie…we love to eat! Chocolate and cheese are definitely two of our favorite foods, but we’re usually pretty ready to try just about anything.
So, knowing that we share pretty much the same taste buds, I decided to take her to my favorite restaurant in Boston. Any guesses?! If you guessed Regina Pizzeria, you are correct! And this particular visit was probably the best one to date. Why this one? Well, let’s just say that I am one of the most directionally challenged people you will EVER meet. It’s so bad that I annoy myself! We ended up walking five miles to get from Cambridge to the North End. I honestly don’t know what I would have done differently, but I know that there has to be a shorter route. Oh well! More walking equals more calories burned, which was perfect because our meal was cheesy and delicious!
Oh yeah, our friend Leo decided to join in on the fun!
Next on the Boston foodie train was a stop at Mike’s Pastry. It’s a must visit place if you are a newbie to Boston. Their claim to fame is the variety of cannolis they offer. My sister isn’t a huge fan of heavy custards or creams, so I suggested the Chocolate Mousse cannoli. It was yum…
She clearly wasn’t a fan…
We headed straight to the movies after leaving the city. We watched Crazy, Stupid Love. It was a really cute, funny movie. I definitely suggest it if you are in the mood for something fun and lighthearted. My sister and I were laughing and awwing the whole time.
Today, we woke up, got ready, and headed to Providence to pick up our race numbers for tomorrow – it’s Half Marathon time! I love race expos! My sister and I walked around and checked out all the fun goodies – apparel and food.
We were pretty hungry by the time we left the expo, so we headed to the Providence Place Mall food court to check out what it had to offer. Much to our surprise, we discovered Indian food!!! This was the first time either of us had seen an Indian restaurant in a food court, so we gave it a go.
My sister ordered the Pappadi Chaat – a bed of crunchy chips topped with chickpeas, yogurt, and a couple of different sweet and spicy sauces. I went with the Paneer Kati Roll – a wrap filled with paneer (Indian cheese), lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and Indian spices. Both items were just ok…pretty much what you’d expect from a food court.
We are home now and about to get ready for bed. We have a long morning ahead of us tomorrow. It’s time to put our race faces on!
I hope y’all are having a great weekend!
Best of luck with the race! Can’t wait to read how it went. 🙂
Ohh I didn’t realise it was time for your race already!! Good luck to you and your sis, Parita!
good luck to you and aekta!! you both are going to rock it…have fun!!
I’ve learned that food court meals are never that good, unless it’s Subway. 😛 But everything else you’ve been eating looks delicious!
I hope the race went well today!
