Hi, y’all! I hope you had a great weekend. I can’t believe it’s Sunday already…where does the time go?!
I spent my weekend in Boston hanging out with good friends from undergrad. It was a blast!
My friend Jetan got into the city yesterday afternoon, so Monica and I decided to show him around Harvard Square.
Ok, you caught us! All we really wanted was some JP Licks ice cream…
All three of us ended up getting the Coffee Oreo – why change a good thing, right!?
We then headed to our usual Harvard spot for some interesting conversation. We talked about marriage, Indian traditions, family dynamics, and the mix of the Indian and American cultures. It was so interesting that I think I’m going to dedicate an entire post to the topics we debated and shared our views on.
After a couple of hours of good conversation, we headed home to get ready for dinner and drinks in Boston’s Seaport District. The restaurant we ended up at was Whiskey Priest. The food itself was just so-so, but the view was awesome.
After dinner, we headed to The Liberty Hotel for a fun night of dancing. I honestly hadn’t been out in such a long time, which is so sad because I LOVE to get my dance on. Fun times were had by all!
We got home around 2:30 AM! Again, I don’t remember the last time I went to bed so late. Ahhh, to be young again…
Jetan, Monica, and I got up this morning and decided on Regina Pizzeria for lunch. I think I’ve said it before, but I really do believe that their Melanzane (eggplant and ricotta) pizza is the best I’ve ever had…EVER!
After lunch, we walked around the North End and then headed back to Monica’s apartment.
And now, here I am. It’s Sunday night and I’m back home. I hate to see the weekend end, but I have a fun trip coming up at the end of this coming week. If you remember from “my failed attempt to put on a sari” post, I mentioned that I was flying out to San Diego for Vishnu’s cousin’s wedding. Well, the time is almost here – I fly out on Thursday! But more on that later…
I hope you all have a great night!
P.S. I know this quote doesn’t tie in with anything I just blogged about, but I found it to be very powerful and true, so I thought I would share. If nothing else, it’s a good thought to end with!
We must be our own before we can be another’s. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Eggplant on pizza is awesome. Looks like a great weekend!
Love the quote, btw. So true!
Coffee oreo ice cream? Omggg yumm 😀 Love the pizza girl
Oh my god, Orea coffee ice cream…I literally just dribbled drool on my keyboard…
I am loving that ice-cream. What a fun weekend you had!
I would love a post about that! My sister in law is 1/2 Indian and her and my brother had a traditional Indian wedding before the American ceremony (I missed the Indian wedding, booo) but I love so much about the culture and have learned SO much from her in the last few years. Also, obviously I love the food which I never would have tried had it not been for her 🙂
Looks like such a fun weekend! I love Pizzeria Regina, it’s amazing!
Coffee AND oreo? That sounds epic!
I’m glad you had such a good weekend with your friends. 🙂
