Turn that Frown Upside Down

written by Parita Leave a Comment

My parents and sister left today. Sad smile  I didn’t realize how hard it would be to come back to an empty apartment.  I definitely have a lot of fun stuff going on in the next few months, so I’m not depressed or anything like that…just sad.

On my drive home from work, I thought about different strategies for turning my frown upside down.  Here’s what I came up with…

  • Call a good friend and chat it up.
  • Go for a walk.
  • Take a nap.
  • Make a delicious, creative meal.
  • Watch a romantic comedy.
  • Read an uplifting book.
  • Shop. Shop. Shop. Smile
  • Do wedding related things – research invites, outfits, vendors, etc.

The list itself is slowing turning my frown into a smile.  But, I decided to ignore my own advice and go with a totally different plan.  This one involves these two things…

The first part of my plan involves Alexa’s Oreo chunk cookies that I won as part of her recent giveaway!  They came in the mail today.  Woot!  These babies are dangerous (and delicious).  I’ve already had two… Winking smile

Part two includes a little bit of this…

It’s official – I’m a Gleek!  I watched all of season one in five days.  Unfortunately, season two is not available via direct streaming.  Bleh!  I didn’t think I’d like this show, but it’s really addicting.  Every episode has me singing and dancing along. Fun times!  I told Vishnu that he will be watching future episodes with me…he was SO SUPER DUPER excited! Winking smile

Ok, I’m off to eat some dinner and get my Glee on!!!

What is the one thing that always turns your frown upside down?

Cookies (or sugar in general) are always a way I can put a smile on my face… 🙂 I hope you’re feeling much better afterwards… 🙂

Those oreo chunk cookies would definitely erase any frown on my face! Red wine also does it. 🙂

So am I officially the only person who doesn’t watch Glee? I’ve tried…I really have! But I just don’t get it?

Sorry you have an empty apartment (my dream!) but I hope you have a good weekend…

I haven’t watched Glee yet, but I keep hearing good things. I wonder if I’m a Gleek and don’t even know it. Sounds like a good way to get your mind of things though!

I am such a Gleek. And right now my favorite thing to run/workout to is my Glee Pandora station! Seriously, it’s the best ever.
And when I need to cheer up I usually cook something delicious or pour a glass of wine and call my mom or one of my friends to chat.
PS- I recommend using theknot.com for all wedding plans! It helped me so much with timing and staying on track. 😉
