Friday Finds

By Parita May 27, 2011

Hi, friends!  Woo!  It’s finally Memorial Day weekend, and you know what that means…no work on Monday!  Yes!  I actually like my job, but it’ll be so nice to finally have a day off.

So let me tell you about my Friday finds.  After work, I stopped at Target to buy “a few things.”  Now we all know that one never leaves Target without picking up more items then initially intended.  Sometimes I’m able to fight the urge, but today was definitely not one of those days.

Let’s start with the most surprising find…

Yep, it’s true…I bought a 40 oz. jar of PB.  That may sound like a lot, but trust me…it’s really not.  I’ve loved this brand for as long as I can remember, and the natural variety does not disappoint…it’s AWESOME!  And the best part about this find is that the jar was on sale for $4.12!!!!!  What a steal!

My next find…

Friday Finds 008

I learned something about myself today…I am obsessed with books.  Really.  Every time I walk by the book section of a store, I want to buy one.  I’m not done with The Alchemist yet (although I intend on finishing up very soon), but I wanted something different to read this weekend.  Even though I’m not going anywhere, I thought it would be fun to sit by the pool this weekend and read something that doesn’t involve too much deep thinking.  I hope I picked a good one!

On to the next finds…

Friday Finds 001

Something I really want to accomplish this weekend is to get more organized.  I know, shocking!  I am usually so on top of things, but I don’t know what it is, I feel like everything (work, personal life, etc.) isn’t as put together as it should be.  To kick off “project get organized” I bought a new notebook for work and a mini planner for life.  LOL!  Do people still use these things?!  Nothing beats the old paper and pen method…works like a charm!  Plus, I LOVE the feeling of being able to literally cross things off my lists.

I also found a new workout top for myself…

Friday Finds 023

Hello!

In fact, I liked it (and the price tag) so much, that I picked one up for my sister as well.  You can’t tell from the picture, but it’s extremely light and apparently protects against UV rays.  Can’t beat that!

So that was my trip to Target.  I’m not going to lie, I picked up more items, but put them back at the last minute.  I plan on doing some more shopping this weekend, so there’s no reason to blow the bank in one day. Winking smile

Guess what was waiting for me when I got home…

Friday Finds 007

Yay!  I decided to buy this after seeing Gina’s awesome Open Sky deal.  Can’t wait for breakfast tomorrow!

Oh and this was also in my mailbox today…

Friday Finds 009

I recently won a fun giveaway on Amanda’s blog.  My prize!?  This awesome book on the other side of going Raw.  I don’t have any plans to change my eating habits, but I really do enjoy learning about different diets.  I think the Raw lifestyle has a lot of great insight to offer, so I’m excited to read this.  One more book to add to the ever-growing list…ha!

I think I’m going to finish the night off with a super cheesy chick flick via Netflix.  Yay for three day weekends!  I hope y’all have a great night and an even better weekend.  Smile

Any plans this weekend?  Any great deals I should know about?!  Please share!

  1. Apparently Borders is having a sale? My mom gets all sorts of coupon emails and she got one from Borders…perfect for your new-found book obsession (same here!). I don’t have any big plans, just hanging out with the family and reading Jane Eyre (again)…I’m super excited about a few books I reserved at the library so hopefully I’ll get those…lol I lead an interesting life 😉

Awesome PB jar, btw! Have a fun weekend!

  2. Oh those trips to Target… they get ya every time! I ended up with some lip gloss that found it’s way into my basket. 🙂

I should really just start buying the majorly huge costco barrells of peanut butter. Who am I kidding?

  3. I totally agree with you, crossing things off the list is so amazing! That top looks cute on you.

I so hear you on Target, never come out empty handed from that store.

  4. Crossing things off is probably my no. 1 reason for making lists in the first place ;)! I wouldn’t mind diving into that jar of PB ;)! I’m currently working my way through my jar of Skippy Natural- love it!

  5. I am obsessed with reading myself. I just finished The Paris Wife and How to Bake a Perfect Life. The second was fabulous, the first was…okay. Can’t wait to check out Emily Giffin at some point!

    Love the top…very cute.
