Happy Thursday…only one more day until Friday! Woot woot! 🙂
What’s the best way to celebrate the arrival of the weekend?! With a chocolately treat you say?! I couldn’t agree more!
I got home from work today, made and ate some nachos for dinner, and then stood in front of the pantry for five minutes searching for something sweet. See, I have a super sweet tooth, so this means that after dinner I am always trying to find a little treat for myself. When I was younger, I could down six Chips Ahoy cookies easy. Unfortunately, today was a bit rough because there was nothing sweet in sight. However, I am not one to give up, so I racked my brain and finally came up with an idea – microwaveable brownies. Well, having an idea is always a good thing but then what. I have never made brownies in the microwave, so I called upon my trusted friend Google to help me out. After a quick search on “microwaveable brownie recipes,” I found exactly what I was looking for, so here’s how I went from sweetless to ooey gooey chocolately goodness in less than three minutes.
Microwaveable Brownie Bowl
Adapted from this recipe
3 tablespoons unsweetened apple sauce
1 tablespoon water
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 small pinch of salt
3 tablespoons raw organic sugar
2 tablespoons dark chocolate cocoa powder (I use Hershey’s)
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Whisk together apple sauce, water, vanilla extract, and salt in a deep bowl. Then, one at a time, add the dry ingredients, whisking in between. Once all the ingredients are combined, microwave for 45-60 seconds and enjoy! The brownie will be very hot so very careful.

These pictures aren’t the prettiest, but let me tell you, this little bowl was just what I was looking for!
Do you have a chronic sweet tooth? If so, what’s your favorite way to satisfy it?
I was looking for something like this the other night bc I was craving a quick dessert and couldn’t find one that looked good, I’ll remember this! 🙂
Oh it was good…VERY good!!! 🙂
Ooooh, this could be absolutely dangerous (and in the best way possible!). 🙂
VERY dangerous…but soo soo soo good!
perfection in a bowl? I think so!
Most definitely!
That’s all I need. Easy ammunition for my sweet tooth. LOL
Looks fabulous! You know I have a crazy sweet tooth too. Must have something sweet daily. MUST.
Haha! That’s exactly how I felt after I took the first bite…”uh oh!”
Lately I do! its b/c there are kit kat and cadbury eggs in my pantry. if they weren’t there I wouldn’t be craving them so much! haha its my downfall =)
this looks uber easy! yay!!!!!
Oh my goodness. Looks delicious!
Total sweet tooth. And it needs to be taken care of daily. Often, I use these little ramekins I have and they’re just big enough for me to fill with whatever- cereal, chocolate chips, coconut, pb, etc… whatever works. 🙂
Oh my gosh YUM! I am definitely bookmarking this to make. 😀
Lately I’ve been satisfying my sweet tooth with caramel filled Hershey’s kisses. The’re addicting!
Ohhhh… I love that you heated it. I heart brownie batter.
I mostly have to eat something sweet after dinner or anytime in the evening in general. If I cannot find something good,I just munch on chocolate chips. This recipe is a great idea.
That looks delicious! I don’t own a micro so I wonder if it would work in an oven? I have a chronic sweet tooth that that pesters me every night without fail. But that’s nothing that a teaspoon of dark choc dreams pb or lindt sea salt can’t fix!
OMG! I am just like you…or may be you’re just like me in this area…hehehe…as a lst resort if all fails I would take few pieces of almond, walnut and some dry cranberry, blue berry and raisin to satisfy my sweet craving after dinner and it works for me…last night i found a small (last) piece of Chillean chocolate for my sweet craving…thanks to aek…
This looks SO good! I will most definitely have to try this very soon! I do have a sweet tooth and have to admit that I eat desert every single day! But I think that it’s okay as long as it’s in moderation! My favorite would definitely have to be popcorn & dark chocolate covered raisins! They go SO well together! 🙂
I have a major sweet tooth and cold creamy desserts are what really do it for me. Can’t argue with warm brownie batter though!
Omg I want that brownie bowl! I think I have a pretty bad sweet tooth but luckily I’m good with staying away from cookies and what not .
This looks SO good! I have the biggest sweet tooth – but my body can’t handle sugar, so I don’t get to eat dessert very often! I totally miss it too – but it is definitely the food that I have a tendency to over-indulge in!
I lovvvee microwave treats like that, so fast a delicious. Way bettere than waiting 20 minutes for something to bake. 😉
Hi Mary! Oh it was super fast and super delicious! Thanks for stopping by!
Ahh – I wish I had read this like 2 minutes ago.. before I got up and got dark chocloate to eat.. becauseI def would have made this instead.. tomorrow I suppose!

I love you for posting this, but my waistline may hate you in a week or so haha
It’s “semi-healthy!!!” Hehe! 🙂
should I be embarrassed to admit that I take the boxed stuff, add a little water, and eat that?
