Hey hey! I hope everyone’s having a fabulous weekend. I spent the majority of my day shopping! I hadn’t been to a mall in a long time, so my friend Kelly and I decided to meet up and take advantage of some of the deals that are going on right now. We spent a good five hours walking around, shopping, and talking. 🙂
Something y’all should know about me is that I’m pretty cheap frugal when it comes to spending money on non-essentials. I am what you would call a bargain hunter, and I don’t believe in paying full price for clothes. Now, there are some exceptions, but for the most part, my belief is that if you are patient enough, the thing you are dying to buy will go on sale. My new strategy, thanks to my friend and co-worker Allison, for that “must have” item is to put it aside, walk away, look around elsewhere, and reassess to see if it’s something I’m still thinking about. If it’s still on my mind and I know with 100% certainty that I will wear/use it often, then and only then do I make the purchase. If you struggle with impulse buying, I really suggest trying this method out…it really does help!
I didn’t really have to use that strategy on this shopping trip because all of my purchases were great buys!

I am trying to accessorize more, and my favorite jewelry pieces are rings and long necklaces. So, when I saw this, I thought it was a great buy. It’s really clunky and fun. It’ll go perfectly with some of my Indian outfits as well.

Kelly and I were walking around the shoe department of Macy’s and talking about how every woman needs a pair of nude heels. Lo and behold, I saw these, tried them on, and fell in love! They are really comfortable (which is a must for me) and only $30!! Talk about a deal.
I also bought a tank top and cardigan from the Limited and a sweater from Macy’s. Y’all may be wondering why I’m stocking up on sweaters when Spring is right around the corner. Well, the building at work is always freezing, and I tend to get cold very very easily. Oh well!
Kelly and I also enjoyed lunch at California Pizza Kitchen (CPK). 🙂 CPK is one of my favorite chain restaurants, and it’s probably because regardless of where I am, the food is always really good. We ended up sharing the White Corn Guacamole as an appetizer, and it was as delicious as it looks. I’ve never thought to add corn to my guacamole, but it’s definitely something I’ll be experimenting with in the future.
We both ended up ordering pizzas for our main meals. I went with the Tostada pizza, which comes with black beans, cheese, lettuce, crunchy tortilla strips, a drizzle of ranch dressing, and salsa on the side. At CPK, you have the option of a regular pizza crust or a honey wheat crust. I went with the honey wheat and glad I did! Kelly ordered the Barbecue Chicken pizza, which I know from my chicken eating days is also very very good!
Well, I’m off to eat my leftovers and watch some TV. I can’t believe tomorrow is Sunday! The weekends always find a way to fly. I hope y’all have a great night. 🙂 Have fun and be safe!
5 hours? Wow…you are one dedicated shopper. I think you could even outlast my MIL which is no easy feat, trust me!
CPK – I LOVE it. Remember the Tandoori Chicken Pizza? I used to eat that at least once a week before they discontinued it and before I stopped eating chicken. Oh how I miss it!
It helps that I haven’t been shopping in ages!
I love a good shopping day but to be honest I cannot shop like I use to lol Love the pizzas, they both look amazing! 😀
I was pretty tired 2 hours in. LOL! And yes, the pizza was tasty!
LOVE CPK! I haven’t lived near one in ages but the next time I travel, i’m for sure seeking one out! I loooove their greek salad! <3
It’s really one of my favs! I like the tostada pizza because it’s a pizza salad combo!
Heck yes every woman needs a pair of nude shoes..or five! 😉
Love that BR cocktail ring!
I like how you think!
