I know, I know…Friday Favorite type posts are pretty much the most cliche things in the blog world. But you know what? They’re also some of my personal favorites to read and click through! With that, I’m starting a weeklyish Friday Favorites series on MIS.
Here we goooo…
Drop everything and watch the Hasan Minhaj Homecoming King Netflix special. Within the first 10 minutes, I laughed so hard I cried. Like, we had to pause and give me a moment! So easy to relate to as a child of immigrant parents. But I loved his overall message more than anything…very powerful! Trust me, watch it!
Speaking of Netflix, something else you should watch is Master of None. We finished the second season last weekend and liked it better than the first. It was a lot deeper than we thought it would be. In fact, Vishnu and I had a very philosophical discussion after the last episode. Who knew Aziz would bring that out of us…?
When putting our baby registry together, I decided to add a few out of the box type items. This Black + Decker handheld vacuum being one of them. And I don’t regret it one bit. I read somewhere that this device is a lifesaver once the baby comes into the picture, especially when it comes to sucking up all the food dropped/thrown onto the floor. Sooo…our baby arrives in 6 weeks, and I’m already using this thing on a daily basis. LOVE!
Another seemingly minor thing I’m celebrating this Friday is almost being done with baby shower thank you cards. While they’re super fun to write, they’ve been hanging over my head for a while, so aside for about 10 or so cards, I’m done! Hoping to finish up this weekend.
The Single Most Important Parenting Action We Can Take Today – resonated with me 110%
This video made me really really happy…and hopeful. Worrying does nothing but distract us from the beauty of the present moment.
And with that, HAPPY FRIDAY!
