Favorite Things Wednesday

written by Parita Leave a Comment

Woot! It’s Wednesday! Today was an ok day…not bad, not great. Ehh…it happens!

Anyways, my evening will be super because of Wednesday Night TV!  So, in honor of my favorite day, I thought I would share some of my favorite things with y’all.  I’ve shared a lot about my favorite foods,  but I have yet to talk about some of my favorite non-food things, in particular beauty products.

I am a firm believer in beauty being an inside out thing, but lets not kid ourselves, we all have those days where we need that extra little oomph.  Y’all know what I’m talking about!

The three products I am going to showcase today are some of the best in my opinion.  I own all three of them, but I am not going to show you actual pictures of my stuff because most of it is 3/4 of the way used up…not ideal for blog pics!

Alright, enough chit chat… 🙂

Product 1 – Biosilk Silk Therapy Hair Serum

Source

This is the only hair serum that leaves my hair frizz free and super smooth.  And the best part is that my hair is never greasy afterwards…never!  I’ve even seen a reduction in split ends, and my hair feels stronger. I use  a quarter size amount before I dry my hair and straighten.  It’s a good thing you don’t too much because this stuff is not cheap.  I’ve seen deals pop up during the holidays though.  You can even buy a smaller bottle to try out for about $13 at Ulta.  That’s what I did when I first started using it.  I’m telling you…this stuff changed my life! 🙂

Product 2 – Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

Source

My friend Monica introduced me to this little potion, and let me tell you, it’s truly magical.  You know how after a couple of hours even the best eyeshadow starts to crease and look kind of yucky?  Well, with this light, neutral primer, you can say goodbye to creases and hello to longer lasting more vibrant color.  I was super skeptical when I bought this for the first time in January, but after one use, I became a believer.  Even after a 10 hour work day, my eyeshadow looks just as good as when I applied it in the morning.  And again, it’s good that you don’t need too much of this stuff to get the job done because it’s a bit pricey…about $18 a tube.  But in my opinion, good products that actually work are worth the investment.

Product 3 – Philosophy Amazing Grace Perfume

Source

Believe me when I say that I am not a big perfume person.  Nothing turns me off more than a strong overpowering scent that makes me feel like I can’t breathe.  However, this scent is completely different.  I find myself sniffing my wrist all day long.  I can’t get enough!  It’s light, feminine, and clean.  Vishnu hates strong perfumes as much if not more than I do, but when I went home in March, he complimented “my scent” and said he really liked it.  Shocking!  My friend Monica said the same thing when I saw her a couple of weeks back.  The smallest bottle costs about $15-$18…not bad at all considering that it will probably last you a few months.  Even if you’re not a perfume person, the next time you visit Sephora or Ulta, check this scent out…you will be hooked!

Well, there you have it…my favorite things on my favorite day. 🙂  Let me know if you use any or all of these or plan to in the future.  And not that I am a beauty product expert or anything, but if you ever need a second opinion on something or a product recommendation, feel free to email me.  I’ve experimented with a lot of different brands, so I know a thing or two about what’s out there.

Thanks and have a wonderful night!

I quite like overpowering perfume scents when I’m going out at night! During the day, the scents from Body Shop are great- subtle yet fresh!

I LOVE philosophy’s products! I use their moisterizer because it’s the only thing that doesn’t make my skin breakout. And now that I’m in this super dry climate, I REALLY it.

I’m def gonna check out that shampoo. My hair is super long and could use a good one like that.

Don’t forget to use a 20% off coupon when you go to Ulta. I never go without one!

And I meant serum, not shampoo! lol!

Speaking of which, do you know of any good ones for long, straight hair like ours??

I don’t use anything special. I find that Dove shampoo and conditioner actually works really well for me. I also switch it up every few washes with a different shampoo, usually a claryifing type. The other thing I try to make sure to do is use a moisturizing conditioner – still Dove. It works for me! Hope that helps!

I’ve always wanted to try the Biosilk – but I wasn’t sure if it was worth the price! I think I’m going to try the small bottle from Ulta. 🙂

Biosilk is so super essential that I nearly shout from the rooftops that everyone that has hair on their head needs to use it! <3 so fabulous! I've been using this stuff since middle school actually… now that I think of it! First it was called a different name or maybe it was a different prodcut back then? it was called sun-glitz… and then it vanished and biosilk took its place and it was the exact same product and I was sooo happy to have it back in my life. i'm totally rambling arent i? whoops! sorry love!

glad you know about this stuff! mwah!
